All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils’ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.
The four broad ‘areas of need’ are defined as:
Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, and Sensory and Physical Needs.
Easterside Academy is a mainstream primary school with a 26 place Nursery. The Academy also houses a High Needs Base (HNB) which provides education for 12 children with Special Educational Needs. Our school SENCo (special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) is currently Mrs Linacre, however we have a SEND Team approach at Easterside Academy and any member of the team is able to support children and families. An appointment can be made with any member of the team through our school office.
