Yesterday as I walked down the corridor I could smell a gorgeous smell coming from the lower hall. When I went to investigate I found a large group of our parents there with Middlesbrough Environmental City, cooking! I remembered it was our ‘Slow Cooker’ course and was delighted to see so many parents there!
This is the second time we’ve run the course and we’ve had really positive feedback from it. When parents were asked why the enjoyed it, replies included:
“It showed me how to use foods I wouldn’t use and I learnt new things.”
“I’ve learnt how to cook more healthy stuff!”
“I have learnt that things can be made simple when you wouldn’t think they would be.”
“I now know how to cook on a budget.”
“Having a large family it can take a lot of time and a lot of money – totally loved it!”
What’s also great about this course is that each parents gets to take away a big bag of groceries and a slow cooker!
If you haven’t done this course yet and you would like to, keep your eyes open as we’ll be running it again in the Autumn Term. We’re also hoping to run a further three day course.
